Changes to my study programme

Hello bloggers! Today I would like to write about some changes to my study programme or my career in simple words. Well, I think that this year has been very complicated because of student mobilizations and for that we have to study in the summer.

Now there are a few changes that i could do in geography, in the first place, for example there is a geographic information system named ArcGis and we use a lot to make cartographies. but if we want to have in our computers we got to download it in an illegal way and it's dangerous for our computers, so I think that the university should provide us this program and we could have it in a legal and original way.

About the curriculum i really like the subjects we have to study, if we compare it with curriculums from other universities it is very complete and its approach is broader.

About the challenges i have faced as student, the worst part is being far from my home and family, solve problems on my own, try to be calm when stress wins and understand and understand that although of all of my is never enough.

Being a student is like a rollercoaster of emotions, sometimes you are happy, sometimes you are so sad that you want to give up because you feel you are not enough for the career, but when the time passes by you realize that every semester is the same, as a cycle that never ends. But despite everything I said before I love my career.

The holidays!

Hi everyone! Today i would like to write about what I´m going to do in my summer holidays. Well as far as I'm concerned my family and I want to go to visit my grandmother who lives in Trovolhue, a small coastal town in the Region of Araucania. The last time I saw her was in 2017's summer and that was the first time I went to that place. When we went there in 2017 I knew a lot of places like Budi Lake (which is the only salty lake of south america), Carahue, Nueva Imperial which is the only salty lake of south america and I knew a lot of family too.

Many people think that if you go on vacation you need to know different places or new places but I disagree with them, in my opinion I think that you have to go to a place you feel comfortable and if I feel comfortable going a lot of times to the same place you do with no doubt.

Also go to Laja River in the Region of Biobio and camp with my family, I love that river, I have beautiful memories of the last time I went there.

So I hope my family and I can go to visit my family and a lot of places on summer vacation because i think we really need to disconnect us from city life and relax and in my case get back to a new year of university renewed.

Should euthanasia or physician-assisted suicide be legal?

Hey bloggers, today I'm going to write about a topic that is very interesting and very current to generate a discussion and analize different points of view. In the first place is necessary to know what is euthanasia? According to The Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary Euthanasia "is the act or practice of killing or permitting the death of hopeless sick or injured individuals in a relatively painless way for reasons of mercy". So with this definition we have pros and cons about the same topic. Here we have some pros about euthanasia:

-Michael Irwin, former Medical Director at the United Nations and current Coordinator of the Society for Old Age Rational Suicide (SOARS) stated: "The right to die should be a matter of personal choice: I am pro life, I want to live as long as I possibly can, but I also believe the law should be changed to let anyone with some severe medical condition which is causing unbereable symptoms to have an assisted suicide. I wouldn't want to be unnecessarily kept alive against my own will".

-Brittany Maynard, a 29 year old with a malignant brain tumor, stated the fllowing: "There is not a cell in my body that is suicidal or that wants to die. I want to live. I wish there was a cure for my disease but there's not. My glioblastoma is going to kill me, and that's out of my control...it's a terrible way to die. Being able to choose to go with dignity is less terrifying...Right now it's a choice that's only available to some Americans, wich is really unethical".

In the other side there are cons:
George Delgado, MD, Medical Director and family practuce physician at Culture of Life Family Care said: "Physician-assisted suicide does damage to patiens who are in very difficult situations. It does damage to the medical profession. It compromises the sacred trust between physician and patient, which should be based on healing, not based on killing".

According to the previous arguments that show us the different positions of people respect if euthanasia should be legal, we can say that there is a war between the ethical and moral, because as human being we have the right to live and decide about us, we can also decide if you don't want to continue your suffering caused by a terminal disease, helping to have a dignified and less painful death.

Post graduate studies

Hey bloggers, today I would like to write about post graduate studies. In my case when I finish geography, I would like to go to Europe because geography is a important discipline there. Also I would like to learn other language, cultures, geoforms and a lot of things.

Or maybe if I can't go to other country and I had to stay in Chile I would like to do an specialization in Geographic Information Systems to perfect myself and help other people to understand a very interesting topic and a complement to any job that you have to do.

What I wrote before is just a supposition because in real life I don't know what to do when I finish my career, I'm only interested in finish it, start working and just that, I don't think about future i really like to live present.

Future job

Hi everybody! Today I would like to write about a job I would like to have. Well, to contextualize when I was 15 years old I started to play the violin, my parents gave me one for my birthday, so I took violin lessons and then I joined the orchestra. So, the job I would like to have it would be in an orchestra and play the violin.

If I work in that, I think I would travel a lot, visiting different places of the country, playing for all the people and always learning from other musicians. Play an instrument makes you work as a team, also responsibility is really important at that job, you can't just miss an rehearsal because you are an important piece of that puzzle. That job needs a lot of practice, you never stop learning.

About the salary, i don't know, maybe if you are good in your stuff, the salary is good, also you can do violin lessons, complementing with the job in the orchestra.

Now, i study Geography, which is totally opposite to be a violinist but i really like, it was my only choice, because be a violinist or a musician in fact in this country doesn't have the importance that should have and the future scenario becomes difficult.

A hobby

Hey! Today i'd like to talk about my favourite hobby: read books. I started reading at the age of 13 years old. at first i didn't have many books, just two books in english and that was so difficult to me at that time so, a friend i met when i went to te orchestra, invited me to Santiago to FILSA (Feria Internacional del Libro de Santiago) at the Estación Mapocho and in this place i bought my first books. After a while my friend started to borrowed me books and one day that i asked her for books (like horror or suspense) she recommended Stephen King and she give me a book called "The Green Mile" i loved that book an also the author so i started reading many books that he was published like Carrie, Pet Sematary, The Long Walk, Misery, among others.

Every year i go to FILSA, and i buy many books as i can because i really love read books and is not just about literature, also about history or geography. The only bad thing is in FILSA books are so expensive so is not easy to buy books and the cheap books are so boring.

Mordelón, the best dog in the world

Hi bloggers, today I would like to write about a pet i have loved the most. Well, since I remember I have had cats, I love cats, each one different from the other and special too, but today I'm not gonna write about my cats, I'm going to write about my first and only dog. Its name is Mordelón. It was 2013 and a classmate was giving puppies in adoption, that was my opportunity to have a dog so I told to my parents but they didn´t give me an exact answer. I went to meet the puppies and I chose the first I liked, a little black puppy with white chest. When I came to my house my parents couldn't believe that I had gone to adopt a dog, we bought some dog food and we made a little bed for it.

Now Mordelón is five years old and it has a friend three years ago, it name is Samito, a beautiful cat which is its beloved friend. Mordelón is the baby in the house, it loves to bark to other cats when they bother Samito; going to the forest with my parents, it loves eating a lot and sunbathe in the park. And when I arrive to my house it gets really happy to see me and I do too.

The best concert ever!

Hey bloggers, today I would like to write about the first concert in my life. It was on November the 28th, 2017. My roommates invited me as a gift for my birthday to Bruno Mars’s concert. It was totally a surprise, he is my favorite singer since I was 13 years old. My best friend during that time, showed me a video of him, its name is “The lazy song” I think is a bit ridiculous but i really like that song, so I started listening until now. So i was very excited because i have never thought i could see and listen him in real life. It was in the Estadio Nacional so there was a lot of people. For people who don’t now about him his real name is Peter Gene Hernandez, an American singer-songwriter born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii.

First while we were waiting for him, the band who opened was DNCE and its vocalist is Joe Jonas so it was really funny and nice because he sang really well. At 9:30 PM Bruno came on stage. It was really amazing, his voice was beautiful and with my friends sang every song. The best part was when he spoke in spanish!!!! At the end of the concert i couldn’t talk because my throat hurt a lot. So I can say that is the best and only one concert that I ever had in my life.

A country i would like to visit

Hey bloggers, today i'm going to write my first post. The topic is about a country i would like to visit, well this place is London, England. I know that maybe is an usual place but i think is very interesting, it has a lot of history with ancients cultures, in simple words a sofisticated place and also because is a capital city (of course).

In pictures you can appreciate a contrast between historic buildings and modern ones. What i know about london are turistic places like Big Ben or London Eye. About things i would like to do in London is sail on Tamesis river and Westminster Abbey.

If i could study in there i'll do to learn english, i really like the accent of british people (more than norteamerican people) because i think the pronunciation is clean and perfect and also work in what i am studying now. I think London or European continent has a lot of opportunities to grow as a person.
